The HGUC Crossbone is the first suit from the manga series in 1/144. There's a MG and RD of it, but that's it. We've known since about February of last year that we would be getting a Crossbones HG, thanks to Derringer, which was confirmed when the Maoh came out (a number of the plates were labeled Crossbone, not Crossbone Maoh).

Also, Bandai's recent habit of making at least two kits from each mold (which allowed us to have the All-Gundam Project). Only a very few kits these days will be the sole kit of a mold. Most have at least 2. These two reasons are why we knew that X1 was getting an HG, why V2AB will be getting one, and why there won't be a Victory Hexa.

This is true, by the way. Tomino would provide rough sketches for Okawara to streamline. Stuff like this is seriously not uncommon. You've got to be able to communicate to the designer what you want somehow. Mechanical design is usually a collaborative process.
