I want to see some vintage posters for theatrical features.
Looking for the MazinGetter crossover ones in particular. They must have had some, right?
I don't have much of this stuff but I wish I did.
For some reason, I like the ones that have text plastered all over them.

Based Kogawa.

>I like the ones with text.
Without text it's just a fancy picture. Finding a way to incorporate information in text form is art in and of itself.

I'm pretty sure Mazinger v Devilman had one. Saw a Mexican poster for Mazin vs Doctor Hell at a con once.
The Mazin v Getter things were all half-hour short movies like those Shonen Jump festival showing things, right? Those might share adspace with the other stuff packed in.

Finding high res stuff is the challenge.
>>11023354
Maybe keep an eye out on ebay and yahoo japan? Might find some decent photos of the posters.
>>11023354
Yeah, I found this picture too - I also found what I assume was a poster for Mazinger Z vs Ankoku Daishogun, but it was ant-size.
>>11023325
I think I have some super hi res scans of the Akira ones somewhere.
Saved the Ideon & Macross ones. This thread is a fantastic idea and should be stickied until we find much more to share. I'll be sure to search myself too.

I spent a few minutes in Google trying to find a few for you anon. Finding American made ones is pretty easy thankfully, but I'm not sure if some of the Japanese ones are just DVD covers or actual movie posters or what.

Obviously finding posters for this or other recent mecha stuff from America like the Iron-Man movies is a doddle and you basically have your pick of dozens, so I'll just leave it at one for them - though someone else can feel free to grab them all and post them if they want.
>>11026324
I'm not honestly sure if this is a movie poster or what for instance.
>>11026329
There's also this one for the original Galaxy Express that looks like it might be another cleaned up movie poster.
>>11026335
And this one for Adieu Galaxy Express 999
>>11026339
>>11026343
Again, no idea if this is a cleaned up poster or what, but I found a few variations of it and it looks like it could be.

>>11026339
Nah, these are DVD covers.
Also I couldn't find my Akira ones, I guess they must be on my dead harddrive. Probably not too hard to find on google anyway.
>>11026339
that's not the poster for Adieu 999
A thousand years ago I got the posters fir Adieu 999 and one of the later Yamatos, either Final or Arrivederci from a comic book store.
Adieu 999 has the logo in moonrunes as the focus, some silver ink stuff iirc too. It's buried at my folks' place with my pile of Area 88 comics.

>I'm not sure if some of the Japanese ones are just DVD covers or actual movie posters or what.
The actual posters usually have a shitload more text on them.
>>11026639
I saw a double-width poster for Final Yamato once showing Yamato attacking the Dinguil mothership, but I can't find that one either, so have the one I just found instead.
>>11026606
Of course, I could be wrong.
>>11026641
Like the one in the OP you mean? Sometimes you can find movie posters cleaned of said shit load of text, which is why I figured some of them might be cleaned movie posters given the way they looked. Seemed like it was worth posting them regardless, since it was only a handful, it kept the thread bumped and it's not like the thread is likely to max the image limit regardless.
And here's my western contribution.
>>11026659
okay, checking ebay this is the yamato poster I have
>>11026722
That's quite a pretty poster. I rather like simple and understated stuff like that though.
>>11026727
yeah, it was cheap as hell, too "ROBOTECH YAMATO $6".
This was "ROBOTECH 999 $6". Well, this seems to be a bootleg on ebay, but it's the same image
>>11026732
Is this still available? Could you link it perhaps?

One day I'll pin them together on the wall.
And here is three great sources for high-res posters, mostly classic movies and cartoons, official and fanart:

i'd love to have these on my walls

there's the bootleg one on ebay, but the cheap "ROBOTECH showname $6" ones were at a nerd store that used to exist near Universal Orlando, they went out of business a while ago
the real version of the Adieu 999 poster has silver ink, not grey
