After seeing that thread I thought I might as well try it out.
And after finishing one route (Zero Saga)... wow it got real dark all of a sudden. I mean for most of the story it's basically a wacky Dokkoida meets FMP and then the tweeeests start coming once the manga comes upand then it ends with a good eighty percent of the cast dead and one of the most depressing final bosses I've ever seen. Thank god for the Collector's little bonus or that would have been a straight up bad end.
Speaking of the Collector, is he a villain or not? On one hand he seems to be playing the true neutral genie, but on the other hand everything is his fault, even he says he screwed up. Plus he didn't tell Yamato the actual price until AFTER he signed the contract, that's just bad business.
Onto the other routes now. Any recommended order?

Just finished the Sky Saga. And I won't lie.
That was fantastic.
When I saw Mirror about to die in the previous route I wasn't really expecting an entire sequel route about him going out like a fucking god. Finally getting to be Dengeki Stryker and save his girlfriend and everything. It was awesome... besides maybe the "welp now let's all go away" part, always thought these were kind of dumb.
Onto the extra routes now... I'm not sure if they can keep up after a climax like that but let's do it anyway.

I think it won't be too hard to make a Zero->Steel->Light with some back story of the Other Haruna and Sayaka learning about her father and somehow activating the Stryker Laboratory. I really liked how it ended. Such a bittersweet end, hard to call it good, yet still brought a fulfilling closure to the story. I for one can't wait to get Cho Dengeki stryer and see if the new story arcs end up being just as good.

Finished the Steel Saga.
It was great. Clie ended up a lot more fun than I thought, the action was cool (any final fight that ends in DOUBLE RIDER KICK gets my respect), Rin and Clie turning into Kamen Rider W was unexpected.
Now with that said, the romance part was incredibly half-assed. Because they shoehorned two heroines into one route, we basically end up with two completely identical route and then the epilogue is just "oh yeah we're in love now" with whoever won.
Also Rin's H-scene was hilarious. The "I'll give him a blowjob while he's sleeping" part was already silly but then she mentioned that by fear of disappointing she's been TRAINING ON BANANAS and my sides exploded. Who the hell wrote that?
Now it's time for the endgame. We'll see how it holds up.

I... fuck. That was sad. Real sad. The tone was ultimately hopeful, but when you spend hours reading and caring about characters and then they all go away, it still hurts.
I've still got a few questions, though.
Why did Haruna remain Stryker Kuu even after Yamato took her memory out of the collection room?
And... that was Stryker himself at the end, right? I don't see why Yamato would end up in a wheelchair, while Stryker definitely has a reason to after overloading his system and getting stabbed by like half the Balbora army. Again, fuck you Curtis.
All and all this was a great read. Maybe I'll try that Baldr Sky recommended higher in the thread next.

Haruna's memories for an "invincible, immortal body" but the collector blatantly told Yamato/Mirror that not even all of his memories could save his life.

There's a bunch of theories I could think of.
-it costs less to go from "stronkest cyborg" to "even more stronkest cyborg" than from "dude who's going to die in three months" to "dude who's totally fine". Curtis merely gets an enhancement of what he already is as a character while Mirror is effectively gunning for a total rewrite.
-Mirror's memories don't count because most of them didn't actually happen, and the ones in the real world mostly involve sitting alone in that apartment and looking for Ten, which isn't worth much. Every time we see a fictional character make a contract by themselves it was after a relatively long happy life in Japan, full of things worth remembering.
-the Collector is a weirdo. (He totally is.)
Besides, when you think about it, the "all of the happy ones" deal might actually be worth more than "everything", because the contractee is worse off in the first case. Better start over with a clean slate than DESPAAAAIIIIIIR.

Holy shit that Light Saga ending. That was definitely the best storyline/route, blows Sky out of the water.

It's just too bad that neither of the endings are happy.

The weird thing about the Light ending is, while it's technically happier than the Sky end, it feels way sadder, for a bunch of reasons.
For instance, "return to the manga" is almost an afterthought in Sky, while in Light the consequences are more thought about : Yamato himself admits multiple times that he's effectively sacrificing everyone's happy lives and bonds for the sake of the kid. And while it IS definitely the hero thing to do, it still feels real bad because, well, the entire VN was about the manga characters while Kid!Yamato himself was barely in it.
Also it ends with Stryker getting stabbed to maybe-death instead of a peaceful departure.
Oh, and Haruna leaving with a "come back when you're old enough to fuck" message.

The Haruna abandoning Yamato was a big part of that, but I think the worst part was that Stryker sacrificed all of his friends and their happiness for the kid. I mean, most of the manga characters loved being in the new world, and they loved having a chance at life.
Something else that made me sad was that kid Yamato's memories didn't join up with Stryker like Haruna's memories did. I think that would've softened the blow a little/

Also, suffering saves this VN. It's pretty stupid and simple. In beginning it added to its charm, but stupid shit like Emperor or that dimension ruined overall expirience.

If turned in anime, I easily see Zero-Steel-Light. Heaven-Sky will not be adapted because hero shouldn't become aware of girls and ending is pretty heavy.
