The description of his time spent in America literally gave me nightmares. I would say the WW1 part at the beginning is the worst part of the book and everything from the boat onwards is gold

same thing, i got memed into reading death on the installment plan by some autist and it was funny sometimes, but it's a never ending series of whiney stories about being a little perv, should have been a short story collection since there seems to be no real overarching plot, plus that would make it less of a slog
