It has beautiful prose and excellent characterization. I'm thinking in particular Prunesquallor's development (or at least how is portrayal develops) and that of Fuchsia. Titus Alone also ventures into more interesting ideas about identity and memory. The novels are also the best Bildungsroman I've read.
