Read Hendrickson's Telephone Book sized Hagiography some time ago. That said, it was not unenjoyable. Visited Harlem Hts when in NYC as a result, even. Cute place, at the time few visited there but since the musical I've heard it's been overrun.

Thank you for this anon
With every biographer you're going to get their biases. Chernow is very pro-Hamilton, if you read a book of him from someone who favors Jefferson you'd get an entirely different opinion.
Who Was Alexander Hamilton?

Throw some Jeffersonian perspectives that are in Hamilton books our way?
Hogeland's "Whiskey Rebellion" and "Founding Finance" should give you an idea of what a shithead he was.

This may be less palatable if you have fascist tendencies, because this book is critical of Hamilton, a proto-fascist by any definition.
DiLorenzo is walking in the footsteps of Murray Rothbard the historian. Good scholarship also. Lots of objective fact that you can separate from his libertarian bias if you find it distasteful.
