i liked it a little

i will probably eventually read the whole thing because i am a filthy scoundrel plebeian wastrel who crawls in the lowest dirt like an impoverished worm

I know the world builing is one of the best parts, but are the characters good? I don't know why, but I feel like they are going to feel shallow if I read it.
