Is this true or false?
that picture reeks of facebook/9gag
The image presents a sort of a dialogue with two opposite views, and it never really states which of them is true. So, if I said that the image is true, then I would be affirming its content. Its content is a statement and a negation of that statement, which makes the whole image a contradiction. Contradictions cannot be true, so the image has to be false.

I mean is the killing of your main char bad or no?
Th dath of thr protagonist isn't anything but symbolic and if used in any other way it conflicts with the integrity of the text. It's an old argument. As old as Gautier and his assessment on tragedy.

Of course it isn't bad. I sincerely doubt anyone ever said that killing characters "shows poor writing".

I think what the strawman image is trying to say is that it's weak writing if you kill protagonists off because new writers would execute it poorly. The importance of the death, the method, and the description would all likely be poorly executed and make for a bad reader expirence. Of course good writers who know what they're doing kill off main characters all the time but it would handicap a new writer from finding a better ending.
