absolutely, the only utter shit part with them is that some great books can have some of the most faggot tier narrators that make them utterly indigestible. The inverse is also true. I've found myself enthralled by what otherwise is shitter tier writing because the narrator makes up the difference in their performance. Put simply: Your mileage may vary.

Thanks, my most recent book (Count of Monte Cristo) has a great narrator. But the Iliad had an author who spoke in a monotone the entire time.

On that note, anyone know a good place to get audiobooks? Audible is a little pricey for me but it is good.

Audiobooks are kinda like training wheels imho, but they are still fine. They got me back into reading after a long break. I had a particular list to work through and for the first couple books I used audiobooks, then I stumbled across a terrible narrator and from then on I've been reading. (Which has amplified my retention of material because reading has caused me to drink far less).
