Name a better short story written by Tolstoy.
Protip: you can't

My mind heads towards Family Happiness, Cossacks, and Kreuzer- all of which I prefer for sheer variety alone (especially the second)- but I suppose each is probably classed as a novella, not a short story per se. Sergius IS great but like Master and Man thematically one dimensional. Of course if I choose Hadji I'll be accused of following Bloom, so I won't, although....
I'll give (you) this: Sergius is clearly better than The Devil. But really.. are not ALL Tolstoy's shorts great?
