Do computers have consciousness?
eventually they will
>>9944493
No, computers don't have souls
>>9944493
>Do computers have consciousness?
No, but we don't either. Hard problem is a meme, what we call consciousness is just physically explicable behavior that revolves around treating useful non-physical fictions as though they were real.
>>9944493
>Do computers have consciousness?
Obviously not. That's what people have been hell bent on rectifying. Stop asking stupid questions.
>>9944515
Do you though?
Yes to me to me to me to me to me

>Obviously not.
If you fall for the dualism meme applying for human brains then it's not obvious whether it does or doesn't apply to any other physical objects. It would be better to not fall for this meme in the first place, but if you do, the next best position to take is to be consistent and begin questioning whether this inexplicable non-physical magic is exclusive to human brains or simply present as the interiority of all manner of random objects.

this
It is vestige of ancient memes and forced concepts to comfortably fit the ideologies of retards, like so many other things.

Common sense is frequently wrong. If it weren't there would be no utility in applying the scientific method. What we're led to believe seems true or not true when left to our own personal gut instincts is just going to be a function of which beliefs and behaviors were useful enough to allow the ancestors who tended towards them to survive and reproduce so we could end up here with those same tendencies. And there's no requirement that a belief useful to survival be literally true, especially not when it comes to contexts that go beyond the immediate needs of avoiding harm or finding food.

The truth is often boring.
