Wheel of Time? Kinda? They both have a hero prophecied to vanguish the darkness and in both books they travel around and meet new cultures and stuff, also the "magic" is pretty similar, thoght in WoT everyone has avatar-like powers, being able to weave all elements.

This is what I thought, though the main point of Wheel of Time is that it's a metafiction for every epic story/hero's journey for all of humanity, they both deal with Chosen One angst really well, along with other superficial similarities
