In the year 1999, this was voted as the greatest novel of the 20th century. Yet any time you discuss it on /lit/ you get pseudo intellectuals coming out against it. WTF is all your problem hating such an important work?

by whomst????
>>9920370
what is objectivism?
>>9920373
By the readers. It wasn't on the critics list at all. Ignore the OP

>THREE (3) L. Ron Hubbard books in the top 10 from readers
>FOUR (4) Ayn Rand
>Not a meme list
The critics list isn't perfect either but in all their top 100 neither of these authors even appeared once. Kudos at least for placing BNW a few notches above 1984. Must have seemed more relevant at the time of voting
>>9920477
what the hell, why is the reader list so shitty? even reddit is superior to that
>>9920370
>WTF is all your problem hating such an important work?
op = fag
dude rip everyone off who gives a fuck
>>9920477
How did Mein Kampf not make the reader's list. It's clearly all memes
>>9920477
>Brave New World at #5
>Catch-22 at #7
nice """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""board"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" you got there
>>9920477
Both of those lists are incredibly shit tho. I actually prefer the memesters who rigged the reader's list with a write-in campaign to the critics who unironically call Brave New World and The Great Gatsby some of the best novels of the twentieth century.
>>9920631
Are you implying that Catch-22 should be higher than Brave New World or just that they're both shit?
>>9920477
All that's missing is Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
>>9920634
Both are shit, but you bring up a good point that Catch-22 is probably better than Brave New World
>>9920370
its boring
