Where should I start with Bukowski?
Don't
I read Post Office and liked it. /lit/ usually recs PO or Ham On Rye and says don't bother with the rest. I read some books of poems with R. Crumb illustrations but couldn't get into them. Never was much for poetry of any kind, tho.

You know the Murakami meme that every one of his books are the same. Well take that meme and put it on Bukowski, only tenfold.

If you want a novel, read post office or Ham on Rye. They're short and easy reads.
For poems, Last Night on Earth is his best (that I've read). I wouldn't waste your time with anything beyond one or two books by him.

Bukowski does a couple things very well. I don't think Murakami knows what he's trying to do.
