You're going to struggle regardless so I wouldn't worry too much. If you're that worried about comprehending it then read a summary of the chapter online so you don't completely lose your way. Once you get the hang of it though it becomes more understandable and easier to read and you'll rely on doing that less. I remember Oxen of The Sun being a bloody nightmare though first time I read it.
