Neither. It seems as though only outside observers caricature me thusly, not knowing my own self parody is constant. What I aim for is rarely self consciousness. I gave up a long fucking time ago and have earned my life in experiment. In each moment I live to attain the psychology of a character that I will then consume in hatred. But then, I also play games when it is my fingers and not my mouth that opens doors.

The saying that a man is made at 20 would have a problem with my type of implosion. What myth stuck me? Well, you see, you can't look in the clouds, that's flying in a dream, and that's sexual. So cut it off there.

Except none have read my real poetry. None have yet found my books. Where do I keep them, where does one look?

I haven't listened much to his latest but it seems that everything after the modern lovers s/t has this kind of overly positive tone that seems insincere in a way, like he's very obviously trying to be "happy" and "goofy" specifically on 'rock with the modern lovers' i think it's called.

oh boy

that's him, he's that way. He's the most sincere guy in music imho, dunno why you think he's phony, his discography is mostly in that vein. His solo output has his roots in the s/t tho, girlfren and hospital have a very mellow and adulescent tone that he kept.

>What a great storyteller! Makes you wonder what Jonathan's music career would have been like if he hadn't gone to Bermuda. Would he have kept making music like "She Cracked" and "Roadrunner" in the style of the original Modern Lovers? Or would he have changed anyway at some point? It's one of those things that we'll never know.
