In staring into the abyss we find the male gaze returned by Medusa's penetration into our network of refraction - which ultimately structures this lifeless imprisonment in stone. That we must break apart this imprisonment, piece by piece and carry on our work leaves us no space inside in which we might stack the fragments. So instead of this prison the philosophical gaze looks upon a tomb of its own creation as it absurdly attempts to dig and scratch - the fingertips torn, fingernails cracking. Screams held within the silence of a statue, one which will be worshipped when it becomes the dust of the earth that people praise once again, looking to each other, through each other, and in to each other.
