Some of his books are awful, others are passable. Liked Misery, The Stand and IT.
I like him. I don't know if he writes his books anymore but his older stuff is very enjoyable. Whenever I'm in the mood for just some light mystery books and nothing too challenging he's my go-to author.
what is a heavy mistery book for you ?
I really enjoy his good work, and don't mind his bad work most of the time. His characterization and depictions of places gel well with me. His writing makes me feel like a little kid reading late at night under the covers with a flashlight again.

I assume this was meant for me. I didn't mean "light mystery" I meant a light read, such as a mystery book.

I read only 2 of his books - Insomnia and Desperation - and dear lord. His prose was just so wordy it ruined all the suspense which is not even that good.
People who do read him regularly did told me that he is like a min/max author. If his work is good, it's really good and if his work is bad, it is eye-searingly awful. Never read him much to confirm though
Stop fucking children!?!
