Where to start with continental philosophy?

Hegel, Marx, Nietzsche most likely. Honestly, not the most interesting stuff, but it's the foundation. Having read some Freud and classic philosophy will help too.
The Greeks.

wonder if another anon would be interested in working on developing a continental phil chart.
the short answer is that if you just wanna see if this shit is right for you, just pick up birth of tragedy and heidegger's basic writings.
the long answer is that continental philosophy is nothing without their predecessors. they are *all* responding to historical problems within the history of philosophy. it is their greatest strength. other anons are certainly correct when they say that you should start with the greeks and read kant. you should. before reading continental philosophy you should have read the major platonic dialogues, some aristotle, descartes and hume's shorter works will do, and be familiar with kant.
then nietzsche. thus spoke zarathustra and birth of tragedy at least.
after that you should just jump right into being and time. being and time is, for first-time readers, not as daunting as it seems. after that, you should pick up heidegger's basic writings (edited by DF Krell) and start picking out threads that you want to read more on. want more political philosophy? arendt. want more hermeneutics? gadamer. want more social critique? frankfurt school. want more metaphysics and ontology? hegel. want more religion? schelling or kierkegaard. more art? they all talk about art.

ah fuck, completely forgot about phenomenology. at some point just make sure to read Ideas 1 by Husserl and Phenomenology of Perception by Merleau-Ponty. both of those books are worth their weight in gold.
also make sure you are concurrently learning ancient greek, latin, french, german, and japanese

You don't. Read Husserl, then move via Frege and Russell to something that's not pseudointellectual dada poetry.
