Can we settle the score on this edition of Gravity's Rainbow once and for all? I've seen nothing but posts saying this edition is riddled with errors with zero evidence suggesting that this is the case. Is this edition /lit/-approved yet?

All errors were fixed after the first printing.

This

I'm almost done with the not-fixed version and I've only noticed a few unimportant errata not counting that one missing line.

>t. Penguin shill
Why don't you pens?

sorry I'm actually retarded
>>
I finished reading this edition and it's absolutely fine. Actually has less errors than the Bantam and Viking editions.
>>
>>9847069
Is there a place that shows all the errors in this edition. I'm so pissed I bought this one. It was the only one available at the book store I bought it from two years ago.
>>
Is this actually a good book?

Even if the plot is unintelligible is the prose, complexity and humour enough to make it worth reading?
>>
>>9848469
The humor is worth it and the feeling of piecing together what he's saying also adds to the enjoyment of the book. Be prepared to be thoroughly frustrated, though. Also, it's not really the plot that's unintelligible. It's the minute details in the subplots.

>Even if the plot is unintelligible
It's not though
>>
>>9848469
It's not that hard. Characters are top notch, and it's actually a pretty fun read. Just pay attention.
Look up a chapter summary, there's one done by a professor that's good, but I don't have the link. Just read the quick summary after a chapter if you feel like you misunderstood or missed anything important.
And don't force yourself to read the wiki for every reference.

Explain the constant switching between past and present tense, and first and third person narrative.

>tfw that's the version I got
>>
>>9847069
I have this. It's fine, the errors have been fixed in all later printings. Very satisfying to hold, too - love the material of the cover, and a weighty paperback is always satisfying.
>>
>>9847069
they fixed the errors 2 years ago or so, now it's just
>deckled edges on a mass printing
>ever

1. it's a e s t h e t i c
2. it feels nice
>>
>>9847069
I did this thread at the beginning of the year and it had basically the same response. I dug a bit deeper and found that no one seems to be able to actually pinpoint any errors save the "your task is often to pens" one.

That said, if anyone DOES still think there are errors, I own the penguin classics WITH errors, WITHOUT (?) errors, and a 2nd printing of the 1973 paperback and will happily bust this myth in two weeks when I'm actually back home. . .
>>
I thought this version had like 4 pages of content cut? Am I wrong?
>>
>>9847069
am i wasting my money if i buy this edition?
>>
>>9851252
you're wrong

>Mistakes in an already unintelligible book.

Like they even make a difference.

>>9848469
>plot is unintelligible
