We don't like it.

I liked it but maybe I'm just a brainlet. /lit/ hates the guy though so no you didn't
I have read five Murakami books and Norwegian Wood is the best one. It is emotional but doesn't have melodrama, it is philosophical but doesn't have pretentious themes, it has contemporary Japanese society but not in the superficial level.

That's my favorite book, should i be ashamed?
It was aight. IIRC, Norwegian Wood is actually the Murakami book that I lent to a qt friend of mine, so that might also be why I have somewhat fond memories of it.
I love Norwegian Wood, but it's not as hefty and satisfying as some of his other books, like The Wind-Up Bird Chronicles.
But it's a simple, easy read and the perfect encapsulation of one of his more powerful themes: that some people are just broken beyond repair and there's nothing you can do to fix them.

didn't like it one bit, it almost felt like anime in book form which is even worse than regular anime
