Stopped reading there.
Augments Ulysses.
I read it just to get to Ulysses, so I didn't dig too deep.
1. The sermon was scary brilliant.
2. Having a theory of aesthetics is important, but that alone doens't produce Art.
3. Joyce chose Art over the possibility of eternal damnation. This is an inversion not seen before in the history of Catholic lit.
