How did Sci-Fi fail so much when predicting the future?
>>9817892
The futured predicted in sci-fi has yet to come.
>>9817897
That is what brainlets think
In reality the future is unpredictable, and sure parts might become true, but overall prediction is bad
Notice the Black Swan
>>9817897
Sure thing bub
(((quantum theory))) will tie up all the loose plotlines
Ubik predicted DLC
PKD was a prophet
Cognitive bias.
Most of the people writing Sci-fi are extremely liberal and well-to-do. Ever noticed how many of the popular authors who constantly worried about overpopulation were from New York or Los Angeles and Massachusetts?

Agreed
There is ideological bias, and experience shapes how people see the future
To be woke you must realise that unconscious bias shapes all of our thought, even science isn't totally free from it, because, unless it can be falsified it is possible to find proof for both sides of the coin - and sure, sometimes we can find more evidence for one side of the coin, but not necessarily always

Pic is the future that leftists want.
>>9817892
because sci-fi is inherently about the present you mental midget
>>9819433
*pic is the future that leftists want people to think they want
1984 and brave new world predicted elements of the future fairly well.
>>9819433
>pic is the future that leftists want
>white people still exist
lol no

I would unironically read sci fi with trans characters in them if it was a thing.
The problem is that nothing like it would ever be written, since the writer would be so restricted in writing about such characters since it's such a controversial topic.
You didn't read Lord of the World.
The mistake is thinking sci-fi needs to predict anything.

who else even tried? "how did economics fail so much when predicting the future?"
"how did magic realism fail so much when predicting the future?"
"how did the NFL fail so much when predicting the future?"
