If you like Pynchy then yeah.
I got it almost by accident at a library in the Belgian town where I'm living, it reminds me a lot of V (obviously) and Ginsberg's The Fall of America, especially in the linguistic choices. It's probably due to the fact that all these three works were written in the same cultural milieu, in the same handful of years, but they make a nice triptych of the sixties in the US - as much as I can say that as a foreigner. I recommend it.
i liked it, some really clever but light prose.
what's your tolerance for counterculture stuff? it's pretty much a self mythologizing story about how flippin cool and enlightened richard farina thinks he is. i read this in my second year of college and i can't think of a better time to have read it.
I've decided I'm not gonna read it
