Holden Caulfield fucking suucckkkkkss and nobody would ever hang out with him. He's brilliantly developed, but as a person he sucks ass.

The book is good and you're supposed to dislike Holden. He's an annoying teenager who thinks he knows everything, Salinger was making fun of 13 year old you.
