What does academia have to gain by destroying literature?

Jealousy, academics are all failed writers and are horribly bitter

The process of canonization is the process of bad, stale literature being forgotten. If people are reading something hundreds of years later, then in all likelihood there's something inherently valuable about that work.

>Academia
>A bunch of tools who couldn't get laid throughout their youth and decided to become little weasels poisoning the minds of our youth as a shitty, childish act of retribution
Think about all the academics you knew growing up and how many of them were lying, cheating, small, weak, contrarian cunts.
In all my years in school I think I had maybe 4 professors who wanted their students to learn what actually needed to be learned and encouraged us as students to challenge everything and think outside the box.
