honestly, youre better off reading Gödels proof by Newman and Nagel(as he recommends in the introduction), and then getting into some introductory formal language theory, than reading the relevant parts of the book, which i find unecessarily idiosyncratic and tiresome. i never finished it on my first read through; armed with the mathematical experience now, i intend to go back and read it, skipping the relevant chapters, and skimming the rest. there are a lot of delightful ideas in there.

I met a fellow young artist who claimed he went mad after reading this. I think it was actually the Ayahuasca that fucked with his mind, but it is no doubt that his stuff was very inspired by this book.

So I bought it, but didn't read so far.
