The Compleet Molesworth, (the 1984 Pavilion books reprint of the 50's original specifically because of layout changes and the foreword by Tim Rice.) by Geoffrey Willians & Ronald Searle. Once you get past the whole "50's british schoolboy slang with poor syntax" thing it quickly delves into a lot of deep shit concerning authoritarian facades, human nature, surveillance, how there are those even more upper class than upper class who overshadow honest people with money, and the plight of the youth in a post-war society all told from the perspective of a seemingly autistic 11 year old across four books (Or three and a half, "Back in the Jug Agane" was published after Geoffrey's death and never finished.) collected into one title. It's bretty gud.
