Are there any books about the relationship between truth and literature? Does literature reveal deep truths about the world, about experience and consciousness, or is it a self-contained experience, beauty for beauties sake, nothing but a means of feeling certain sensations? What do you guys think? Can literature reveal truths, as Wittgenstein said, that are not expressible in philosophy, or is it nothing but higher-level entertainment?
