>he hasn't read every single book written by his "favorite writer"
>>9765422
What's the point of the thread exactly?
>>9765422
>He hasn't read every single book ever made
>>9765431
this, fuckin' plebs
>>9765422
>not slowly reading your favorite writer's oeuvre over time to savor each work
>not constantly discovering new authors you enjoy so that you occasionally find a new favorite author and never run out of works to read by your "favorite author"
>>9765431
Came here to post this.
>he has a favorite author
>>9768193
This. Truly pleb-tier

This is more of a popular music attitude I think. You have people who claim 'x' is their fave band but can't name an album.
Lit is totally different. people have favorite books more than fave writers, ergo when answering your favorite writer it really means your favorite book.
>>9765422
if he did, they wouldn't be his favourite anymore
>>9765422
Why would I? David Gemmell only wrote one good book, so I read it 120 times.
My favorite author didn't write anything.
>>9765422
I'm working on it, he was a prolific motherfucker.
>>9765422
What if your favourite author is obscure and hard to find?
>>9768235
>he reads books
Truly pathetic. I mean, are we SURE he's /lit/ material?
>>9765422
still looking for a copy of Bruce Sterling's early story "Man-made Self". he refuses to acknowledge it.
>>9765422
I do it intentionally. Have 'em on reserve and morsel them out because after I read the last one there's no more.
>>9765422
This is what i do desu
>>9771425
Makes you a faggot
>>9765422
But if I read the shitty books written by my favorite author, he is no longer my favorite author
Yeah youre right. Any opinions on Broom of the System?
>>9768193
>He is not his own favorite Author.
>>9765422
>not being content with a fine sentence
Fine consumers, all of you

While this is a troll thread, I still have this problem.
When the first and second novel by an author I really like, I start to think of them as a possible contender for 'my favourite writer' if I were to be asked such a question.
But then I read another of their books and it completely falls flat and I move on to the next author.
