Are there any characters in literature as mature as Griffith from Berserk?
yeah
He's not even as good as some Tolkien characters, and even less so than the greatest characters in literature like Leopold Bloom, Raskolnikov, Ivan Karamazov, Hamlet, Faust, Ulrich etc
>>9761837
>Raskolnikov
>mature
He's a baby who kills someone evil and literally gets deathly ill over it and is suspicious as hell about it and yet nobody suspects him because they're all idiots.

Everything in this post is so wrong.
First, he's 'mature' because of the descriptions Dostoyevsky makes of his psychological state after the murdering and his overcoming and confession after realizing his love for Sonya.
Second, 'mature' is a stupid word to describe any character.
Third, Porfiri (was that his name), anyway, the detective guy with the mustache suspected him and the book makes it clear that there were no proofs incriminating Raskolnikov, his mind and honesty were his downfall.

Tolkien characters were trash tho, not even close to Griffith.

What is mature about him?
>>9761828
he's a glorified Fernand Mondego
Mildly related, are there any books where fucking a princess is a key plot point?
