It's fine and really fun to write. The first few stories I published were flash. The money is espcially crappy, but that's hardly the point.

Lyrical and dense flash fictions are extremely impressive. I wish William Gass had written some back in the day.

I love John Barth, but some of the stories in this collection I can not STAND. I would literally rather read gibberish than read some of these masturbatory stories again. That said, Barth is a great writer and I started re-reading The Floating Opera today, one of my favorite novels ever.
