I didn't see a thread for eReaders so I thought I would create one.
Kindle or Kobo? I have had a Kindle Keyboard forever and want an upgrade.

Using an Amazon paperwhite 3, personally don't recommend it, too damn small for reading
I suggest buying real books. It is the patrician way.
how to add dictionaries to kindle?
Need a Russian version
I bought a kobo wifi when it came out, it was pretty shitty so I never got another one, though I do hear they're much better now.
Any reccomendations for a sub-$100 one with a sd slot?

Most books made now are incredibly low-quality and decidedly not patrician.

My kindle paperwhite arrived today, I have been reading all day and am quite satisfied
Although I kinda hate to shill for Amazon, I would've bought a Kobo, but I really really wanted that translation feature, If you don't feel like you need transalte go for Kobo

I dont have an e reader, and I dont have a tablet.
Why should I get an e reader instead of a tablet?
I am considering buying one because I spend a lot of money in books (for work, not literature) that I could download for free in pdf form.

Kobo Glo or Aura HD used. They are a little old though. Now even Kobo is getting rid of SD with their two latest ereaders

E-ink screen looks very good for reading, almost like actual paper. But if you use PDFs for work you should probably get the LCD tablet, as you will probably be marking them up and sending them, yes? E-ink and e-readers are what you want you read literature.
I use a kindle for fun reading, but when it comes to research, I check books out from my uni library
