I read the 10 of these books in the main sequence and also Polgara the Soceress. They were fun reads. My Grandfather noticed them lying around at one point and thought they looked neat. He was a big Edgar Rice Burroughs fan, and I suppose the fanciful cover art reminded him of those books.

I never got into Sparhawk though.

For some reason I find this super comfy
bump, anymore comfantasy?
Begin reading it when you're a little sleepy. After 20 pages you'll fall asleep and suddenly wake up when the book is about to fall from your hands and it startles you. Then you continue reading some more until the same thing happens again and again. Really, this is the perfect book to read at the edge of sleep. Don't know about reading it wide awake though, never tried it. Anyway I consider it very comfy.

Well fuck, first time I stop to actually look at the illustration on the cover and just realize there's a bunch of people sleeping at the background. Never noticed this. Anyhow you see how my advice is right there on the cover, don't take my word for it.

What are some good stand alone fantasy books?
I like fantasy, but I don't like reading 3-10 novels all set in the same universe that cause me to forget the details of earlier books.
