/lit/ reads Notes from Underground

What do you think of the Underground man? I feel like Dostoevsky was trying to make him horrible to show that we shouldn't be like him, but I also have sympathy for him and his failures. Was this sympathy also intended by Dostoevsky or am I just making it up because I'm also an autistic son of a bitch? Every time he did something cringy, I was reminded of my past behaviour and times when I did stupid things. It made me want to be a better person.

The book was interesting. It sets the characteristics of the antagonist firstly as how he percives the world and then how he traverses the world.
I think dosto wants to show us the difference between understanding how constructs work and how to apply them.
The way it's written is fun.

It sounded so much like my old childhood friends that I had to drop it. I already did my time with this kind of person.
