I just finished most of Lovecraft's short horror stories and I have an insatiable thirst for more eldritch horror. May I get some recommended authors of horror with a similar style to that of Lovecraft
there arent any worthwhile after lovecraft but you might enjoy some of them from the past 70 years.

Clark Ashton Smith.

Robert E Howard had some good ones in Lovecraft's vein.
Check out "The Black Stone"
if you're looking for modern stuff, i'd recommend laird barron or thomas ligotti. avoid st joshi's anthologies; he might be an expert on lovecraft, but the man is a lousy editor and many of his favorite neo-Lovecraftians are awful.

Aside from Ligotti, no idea m8, sorry

So Lovecraft is a one in a billion author? Sucks, the horror of the unknown and that there might be beings far above our own comprehension that can wipe us out of existence in an instant is my favorite type of horror.

I'd still go with Clark Ashton Smith like >>9685054 suggested. He has eldritch creatures too, but he writes them in a way pretty unique from Lovecraft. This isn't a bad thing though, I bet you'd be pretty interested in how Smith's creatures are presented against Lovecraft's creatures. Also Lovecraft and Clark Ashton Smith knew each other and set their stories in a shared universe. LC's Cthulhu exists in the same world as Smith's Zhothaqquah

I'll surely be checking him out then.
