pynchon died in the early 2000s. he did not write bleeding edge or inherent vice. against the day was a compilation of his final notes for a novel interwoven with extraneous vignettes from pynchon's middle and late career. this is so obvious to me. that "new picture" is clearly just a digitally-aged portrait from his younger years. open your eyes
