What is essential Dionysian core?
I'll start with the obvious:
Nietzsche - Birth of Tragedy
Blake - Poems
Baudelaire - Flowers of Evil
Huysmans - Against Nature
Henry Miller - Tropic of Cancer
Celine - journey to the end of the night
The Doors - The Doors (1967)
Can we we a chart for this?
Thomas Mann, Oscar Wilde, Faulkner
Bataille.
Whoops.
Tennesee Williams, Arthur Rimbaud ofc, Jean Genet
Zorba the Greek.
Don't like it very much though.

What did he mean by this?

That whole album is full of allusions to a crazed killer. It's about the kind of burnout that produced people like Charles Manson. LA woman is from his perspective.

I thought LA Woman was just about a seedy and sexually deviant city of night?

Where do I buy one?

Maybe. It is an evocative song without a point. I don't think Poems should be arguments. I just kind of got the idea of a murderer from a few of the songs on that album. Morrison was pretty obsessed with death in general.

Manfred by Byron as Nietzsche noted in Ecce Homo.
