Having only read the kite runner, I can say that it is not one of the two you should read.
P&P is a well-known classic, I'd definitely pick that one. The Kite Runner is shit and should be avoided, on the other hand.

Book thief will either be annoying or feel-good. I recommend the giver. It depends on your level of empathy but if your level is medium you'll like book thief. If it's high it'll look cheesy and cliche. Again I recommend the giver, first, and then austen

According to suspicious online tests of suspicious quality, my empathy level is too damn high, but more seriously I generally don't like going through cheesy and cliche books involving poor children. But I'll still try it, it must surely be good, better than the others of its kind
