How was Socrates so jacked at his advanced age?
>>
having sex with boys gave him super powers

That's an 18th century painting, so I'd take it with a grain of salt.
But, the Greeks had to do lots of physical work every day, so he was probably in good shape.

Only slaves did physical work.

The /fit/ ethos is different from how the Greeks perceived physical fitness. Many who lift now got into it to "improve your life bro" and weren't even athletes to begin with. Prancing around and posting shirtless selfies is not /fitlit/. Being good at sports, exercising self-control, and having an active lifestyle is decidedly /fitlit/. The problems associated with the muh hypertrophy culture emerge from most of these spergs being unathletic in their youth. I lift btw.

im guessing both

>YWN have a cold one with the boys before Socrates dies.

They were /fitargue/, not /fitlit/

You need the printing press for /fitlit/ to show up
>>
>>9608750 is correct. A more likely explanation is military service. In some city states you would stay in the reserve until 40yo.

And older men rowed in the fleets

Also I'm guessing there was a great deal of peer pressure. After all the communities were relatively small and youth were introduced to athletics early and their bodies very publicly admired.
