Not the one you're replying too, but I recall several moments of self-referential humor that's usually not in other comedy books for kids. IIRC there were also moments where sarcasm is used to make a point or comment about societal norms in schools by ironically presenting the opposite of their points and forcing young readers to recognize the literary technique of making fun of one thing to say something else
