I'm convinced being schizotypal isn't necessarily a disorder. I tested extremely high for it and am a happy and highly functioning, succesful person. Being wealthy and charming probably helps though--like the old adage goes I'm perceived as eccentric rather than crazy because of my social status. So my advice is to choose the right parents. Best of luck. Ta.

Some school psychology test, probably should get to professional sometime, but well, the only problem is learning to actually feel.

Imagine if your feels were seen in a movie, this is pretty much how I feel. And of course, most of society is shit and deserves to die for their bullshit imo, or at least change a lot.

Yes, but the whole point of antisocial personality disorder is that it is a disorder of the personality. Whether or not a person is aware of their condition doesn't confer them mastery over their base impulses.
>>
>>9586664
yes but I just don't see how a disorder of the mind cannot be controlled with effort once it is known. Unless of course personality disorders are physiological? But I don't see what the excuse is for not wanting to change to the greatest extent that you can.
>>
>>9586551
>How can you read as a schizo?
Why wouldn't a schizo be able to read?
>>
>>9586685
Have you considered the fact that the afflicted may not consider their affect disadvantageous? Perhaps they think their behaviour is justified. This is most often the case.
>>
>>9586685
>yes but I just don't see how a disorder of the mind cannot be controlled with effort once it is known
Unfortunately that's not how it works.
>>
>>9586709
Yes, but this chain of comments started with someone who knew they were a psychopath
>>9586714
I dont see how though. Here are a list of some traits of psycho paths:
Superficial charm and glibness
Inflated sense of self-worth
Constant need for stimulation
Lying pathologically
Conning others; being manipulative
Lack of remorse or guilt
Shallow emotions
Callousness; lack of empathy
Using others (a parasitic lifestyle)
Poor control over behavior
Promiscuous sexual behavior
Behavioral problems early in life
Lack of realistic, long-term goals
Being impulsive
Being irresponsible
Blaming others and refusing to accept responsibility
Having several marital relationships
Delinquency when young
Revocation of conditional release
Criminal acts in several realms (criminal versatility)

I'm really not looking to put down people with personality disorders or discount them or not be sympathetic toward their affliction. I just legitmately want to know what it is that prevents them from understanding why this is bad behavior. If it is a property of the mind that is afflicted, I can't see why someone can't be reasoned or willed out of this disease. I guess what I'm getting at is, if personality disorders don't exist without the terms themselves, they just become character problems. So I don't see how character issues cannot be resolved
>>
>>9586284
anger issues = mental disorder
>>
>>9586746
If you follow the other reply chain however, it goes on to transpire that that anon in particular was a schoolkid who took an online test and diagnosed himself. He was in no way a legitimate case of ASPD. Especially when discussing ASPD/psychopathy, you should remember that while not fully understood, it is considered a physiological issue. It is contributed to by genetic and epigenetic factors, as well as lived experience.

Consider the following: how do YOU know something is bad behaviour? When you think of killing someone, is your immediate instinct to rationalise why it is wrong, or is it something you intuit instinctively, without needing to reason? If a psychopath feels no physical unease or discomfort when performing "bad" or "immoral" actions, why would he bother to stop?

Read some case studies from The Mask of Sanity. Genuine psychopaths might appear perfectly rational, and can talk about their affliction with doctors, and seem to realize they need to change their behaviour. But the next day, they will escape from the asylum, steal a car, drive to some shithole faraway town, cash a bad check to buy booze, and get into fights with the locals, without even realizing why all this would be a problem. They quite literally lack some part of their brain that relates to long-term planning, remorse, learning from mistakes, etc...
Now you might say they were just being manipulative and cunning when they appeared sane for a while, but I don't think that's the whole story.

Give me book ideas on the topics below

Picture a boy who believed he would be internally happy when he found his career and he let go of his friends, family and relationships with women to find himself one day a man and on the brink of mental destruction. He can only see himself as a deformed monster and not as a normal human being, he goes to work, has a career where they pay him so well he doesn't know what to do with his free time and he develops a life cycle on a downward spiral. He no longer sees himself as a man who has chased a career and a life of luxury, he now longs for his youth and the days when he had relationships with women and family nearby. These days he is alone, miserable about his existence and tries to collect money and enjoy what life he has left

>DSM
The DSM is like the psychological equivalent of a book of tumblr genders except worse considering the very people who create the new issues of it are people who are also shareholders in the very companies who issue the drugs.

No thanks. I had to read that shit for a women's studies class ("Intro to Women's Studies") I took to fill a GE requirement when I was an undergrad. It was the only thing about women that we read in the class, which really should have been called "black men's studies for feminists and wannabe feminists." It was amusing at first, but I couldn't stand it after about ten pages. I really wish we had just talked about the history of the women's movement and how society responded to the first wave feminists and suffragettes. Instead, we were just thrust into reading Eldridge Cleaver and Gerd Brantenberg without context. We had to write essays every week. I once wrote an essay that was more or less meaningless but full of buzzwords and got an A. I know that the professor graded it, too, because she left handwritten notes on my paper and invited me to her office to discuss it. I went and just regurgitated what I wrote. She gave me extra credit. College is easier than high school, for some reason.

What should I read?

Procrastination with a side order of addiction.

the internet is this never ending and ever expanding ocean of new ideas and information and and experiences and i've been drowning in it's waves for a while now. It has given me such a great perspective on life and yet i've squandered it's gifts in favor of perpetually fishing for more pieces of digital ecstasy. I've trapped myself in my own Skinner's box and i don't know how to get out, every time i try to get my shit together and put my foot down so that i can finally focus on my aspirations it's only a matter of time before the gentle sea breeze beckons me...

Stories?

Specifically, when did your symptoms first appear, and what did you think was happening at the time?

If you hallucinate, what sort of things do you see or hear most often?

How do you cope?

You must get these questions an awful lot, so I am sorry if you're tired of them.
