Not arsed. Too much effort for too little gain. Might try my hand at latin though.

Why Latin but not Greek?

The only reason to learn Ancient Greek is to be a translator, and then you still have to be a good writer.
Your time would be better spent elsewhere if you aren't doing it to make money.

What if I want to learn it in the original language?

You never finish learning a language. I have a working knowledge which is good enough to study the texts I'm interested in but I'd like to read more fluently.

People have this strange idea that it's difficult to learn the letters (it's not at all - in fact we already have most of them in a slightly different form). Greek will give you infinitely more mileage that Latin. After all, the best Roman ideas were all ripped off from Greece anyway.

Days.

Learning it now about 8 months deep and 2/3rds through JACT textbook and going to beast it over summer. From how I feel right now I'd say two years to get a grasp of real ancient Greek, focus on translation and verb forms
>>
About two years and a half in high school to read some real literature
>>
It wasn't till the end of my high school career that I got genuinely proficient
So I guess five years.
