what happened to pulp fiction?

It still exists but we have a Pareto distribution now where only ~5 authors are making like 85% of the sales (patterson, clancy, brown, etc)

Pulp fiction is more accurately called airport fiction nowadays

The "pulp fiction" of today is reality television and hip hop twitter feuds

Mass culture has been decimated by America, smartphones and mud people. Mystery meat immigrants should be the modern audience for commercial fiction, but they're more interested in sports, the Fast and the Furious, and Kendrick Lamar. Basically, Negroid, Arab and Latino attention spans aren't evolved enough to sustain twenty minutes of reading, and the media, which has always catered to its lowest and dumbest, reflects that.

>Mystery meat immigrants should be the modern audience for commercial fiction,
You should slit your wrists desu. Everyone has shit taste, melanin-deprived or not. Pulp fiction's quality tanked long before the influx of muh scary brown immigrants.

This. There are plenty of indie authors pumping out a 60k word formulaic novel every month that is heavy on plot and action. I'm one of them.
