What do you think about my short essay on human behavior?
I stopped after the first sentence to let you know that you're incorrect, and I care about you.

is nature cruel and unfair?

>people
>cites stanford prison as proof of all people
>its another projecting episode.
all youre describing is young americans bred on consumerist society and a hefty dose of that competitiveness that is instinctual to young people
spend your 20s observing life, then reread this when you are older. you will see how narrow your world view is.

Y'know, this is exactly what Zizek means when he says modern Christians are the true atheists, because modern atheists are still grappling with the Big Other---in your case, the 'inescapable law' of the 'darwinian process.' Where are any of your arguments? In-group preference may exist, but that doesn't preclude any sort of conception of universal human rights or dignity. How do you know all humans are inherently selfish? Why is that dichotomy arbitrary and absurd? Seems prima facie obvious that entitlement to love and adoration is indeed more selfish than selectively distributing it but I could be wrong.
Oh look it's that angry gay guy who thinks that he's too good for crit threads and that nobody will notice it's him if he doesn't use a pink background.
Go jerk off to some diaper porn.

I agree with pretty much everything you said.

I haven't even read it but i can already tell it's going to be edgy and pretentious, because the whole conceit (posting a "short essay on human behavior" on /lit/ for critique) is already edgy.

Oh hey saddude69, it's been awhile. In "Civilization and Its Discontents," Freud said that not all men are deserving of love. He was disparaging the Christian edict of universal love, but I think that it applies here too. Of course you have to prove yourself worthy of affection -- anyway who loves unconditionally is a sucker. This doesn't mean people are shitty, it means people are reasonable. However, once your in someone's good graces they'll be willing to overlook a lot, in my experience.

it's awful, I bet the Columbine journals were interesting to you.

Human beings are inherently selfish because everything that people do, they do because they feel that it benefits them in some way. If someone donates to charity, it's because it makes them feel good. It releases chemicals into their brain which rewards them. If someone does something that they feel is altruistic, because they have empathy for other people, that's also because they're selfish. People will always do things because it will make them feel a certain way, even people who try to make themselves hurt, because they feel that they must do that for some greater means. Everything is a form of selfishness, no matter how you look at it. Because human beings are inherently selfish, you can't expect anyone to care for you for no reason.

We're here so we can continue out own genes. Social interactions are encrypted plays to gain leverage over other men. That's why men are competitive and aim to achieve great things. That's why men become jealous and alert when there's a greater male nearby. That greater man will get all the women and will make sure that lesser men do not obtain resources that could sustain their lesser offspring.
Jealous of rich, attractive, and wealthy men? You're a loser. Embrace it. You OP are a prime example of someone who denies their own reality of being a lesser male and will hate society for not benefitting you.
While it's true that all actions are to benefits yourself, it doesn't mean from an overall perspective that humans are absolutely evil. If we all look out for each other and protect ourselves, then we can peacefully coexist as animals just trying to subconscious breed and seek security in a jungle world. That isn't so bad. We can even become mutualistic friends. The world is big so we better stick together.
