Why does /lit never discuss Gertrude Stein? She makes Virginia Woolf look like a stupid cunt.
>>
Virginia Woolf was a stupid cunt.

What kind of "trans" thing is it?
>>
Nobody reads Stein whereas Woolf is on 9/10 school curriculum reading lists.
>>
>>9537410
Why haven't you lads read her yet?
>>
I really hate that you can't make a Stein thread without pulling some contrarian bullshit for (you)s.

I love Stein and I totally get why more people don't.
>>
>>9537418

Which of her works would you recommend reading first?
>>
>female writers

Fucking sage.
>>
>>9537418

I tried reading Three Lives and it was excruciatingly boring.

Diary or the making of Americans

I have only read Three Lives and Tender Buttons. I understand the importance of Stein's influence and her role in shaping modernist literature, but I just don't enjoy reading her stuff. Why compare her to Woolf in the OP? Is there some reason you did this other than the fact that she's a woman writer?

nice bait

She doesn't make Virginia Woolf look like anything. Stein is a good poet. Woolf is a good novelist. They don't deal with similar techniques or subject matters.

In other words t-take it back!
>>
>>9537327
I get the whole repetition thing, it's just not as beautiful as Woolf.
