Look, brother, if you don't want to share your oats with me it's fine. Thinking this way is our natural default-setting. The thing is that there are obviously different ways to think about this situation. It is not impossible that the farmer forgot to feed the other pigs, and that, well, I -your brother - am in the deep pain derived from hunger, and that I'm in a sense *compelled* to ask you for my rightful portion of oats.
I am not giving you any moral ethical-higher-ground lesson, nor i'm saying that you *have* to think like I do. The only capital-T Truth is that you get to decide how you're going to try to see it. And if you're going to decide that I do not in fact deserve my oats, well, it is understandable - but there is something sad and banal and incredibly soul-crashing about that.
