all conversation, celebrity gossip, sports, movies, music, etc. revolves around escapism. people are selective with how they apply the escapist label, usually only applying it to things they don't like [video games, for example]. life itself, devoid of escapism, is nothing but dead air.
try apollonian and dionysian escapism, they are both good coping mechanisms

it is an inevitability. escapism imposes stagnation, and potentially - if used in excess - regression
when one utilises escapism too much one is a customer to that activity. when one listens to within one is without bounds
