It just simply isn't stimulating enough is it? The world we live in makes books in comparison to just about any activity seem dull.
Books are a thing from when the world was dull and boring as fuck and reading a book opened up a new world for you. Now we have internet, movies, tv, video games, driving, news, and an unlimited amount of other things we can do.

There's always something else to read, don't bother.

seconded. pretty shitty post. Go to your room and think about what you did
>>9493352
Shitty but true, unfortunately.
You can't deny that reading a book in our fast times doesn't compare to reading it a 100 years ago when everything was slower and more bleak.
>>9491575
That's every book though

I guess I agree.
Books have to be better these days, they have to be really worth the time investment.
When I'm reading a good book I won't talk to my friends or family until I'm finished.
I still think reading is a good past time, but I find that my bookshelf doesn't get as many new books anymore compared to when I spent less time on the PC.

You forgot to add porn to paint the whole picture of excitable 15 year old with an attention span of a 3 year old.

>talking about time investments while posting here
Stop deluding yourself.

I never said reading was a lame activity, I just said it wasn't as stimulating as all the other things you could do instead. I'm trying to draw a contrast between how stimulating the activity of reading was when the world around you was boring and reading was the only activity accessible to people to keep the stimulated, compared to what we have now to do that.
Are you people really too stupid to comprehend such a simple concept?
>>9493347
Despite all this none of the other options actually match reading an engaging and good book.

You're a fucking pleb mate.
