I hear Blackwings were the best. Whats a good pencil now...Ticonderoga went to shit years ago.
What's a good Pen that I can find at Staple or Office Max?

Blackwing FUCK YEAH. Too bad about their long point sharpeners though. Bought like four of them before it had all the parts.
anyone ever learned to paint to get better at looking at things?

Thanks
What about notebooks or similar. A cross point of quality and affordable. I bought some cheap ones and they didn't take ink well or they ripped if you tried to erase pencil.

Five Star is probably good. I have a bunch of Black n Red knockoffs that I get for cheap.
I bought a pack of these recently because they were cheap, they write surprisingly well, I was impressed.

Those are terribad pens.
those pilot g2 things are easy enough to find but also feel like the old inky pens my dad used to have lying around
need a good ballpoint pen with fast drying ink that's relatively cheap and easy to use for someone with tight, constricted handwriting.
Also just got a moleskine for the first time a week or so ago, haven't had any real complaints but I don't get what the hype's all about. That said I don't really know what more you could put into a notebook in terms of features.

Rhodia notebooks are actually fairly cheap considering their quality and utility.
